Smith River School – Early Dismissal Notice 3/3/2026
Due to the Smith River Water District shutting off water service resulting from an emergency break, school will be released early today.

Water has been turned off at Smith River School, and we have been notified that it will remain off for an extended period of time. As a result, we are unable to continue school operations.

Students will be released immediately, and due to a lack of water, lunch cannot be served.

If you are able, please come pick up your child as soon as possible.
All students who are picked up must be signed out at the school office.

Please do not go directly to your child’s classroom. Use the front entrance when arriving on campus.

Parents who call to request transportation for their student will have their child sent home on the bus.

Any remaining students who cannot be picked up will be transported to Redwood School, where they will be served lunch and may be picked up by a parent or guardian. Smith River students at Redwood who typically ride the bus home will be sent home at their normal time.

We were just notified by the Smith River Water District that, due to an emergency break that occurred last night, water service to the school may be temporarily shut off today for approximately four hours.

We are actively communicating with them to determine the exact timing and duration of the shutoff.

At this time, water is still on. If water service is interrupted for an extended period, we will not be able to continue school operations, and students will need to be released early. We expect to have more information within the next hour and will make a final determination at that time.

If early dismissal becomes necessary, families will be notified in advance with clear instructions before students are released.

Corte de Agua de Emergencia en Smith River – 3/3/2026
