Smith River Elementary proudly participated in The Great Kindness Challenge during the week of January 26–30, bringing students and staff together through daily acts of kindness and schoolwide activities. Each day focused on a new way to spread positivity—from creating compliment walls to writing thoughtful notes for staff members and classmates. Students dressed in themed spirit days, shared encouraging messages, and reflected on how kindness can make a difference both at school and beyond.

Throughout the week, kindness was visible everywhere—from family lunch photos with positive messages to peaceful, inclusive activities that encouraged empathy, teamwork, and respect. The challenge served as a meaningful reminder that small acts can have a big impact, helping Smith River students continue to build a caring, supportive school community—one kind act at a time.
